Qualifications

We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Senior Engineer to join our high performing team.

REPORTING TO: Site Manager

LOCATION: Based in Dublin, Ireland. Candidates from NI are welcome to apply but must be willing to commute.

CONTRACT TYPE: FULL‑TIME

HOURS: Monday - Friday

Role Responsibilities
  • Support the Site Manager in helping to lead the construction of the allocated project.
  • Build strong working relationships with the Engineering team and sub-contractors.
  • Ensuring project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets and/or timescales.
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially Quantity Surveyors and the overall Project Manager.
  • Engage all members of the project team to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Liaising with the Commercial team and other internal stakeholders as and when required.
  • Assisting in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
  • Assisting in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc.
  • Providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
  • Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances.
  • Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks ensuring that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
  • Ensuring workforce understand setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.
  • Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the works.
  • Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly.
  • Supervising the work of all subcontracting firms carrying out works on site.
  • Engaging and liaising with utility providers / co‑ordinating on site, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Preparing site reports and all other required documentation.
  • Taking a proactive approach to managing Health and Safety on site.
  • Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to at all times.
  • Coordinating and supervising temporary works as required.
  • Implementing a regime of test and inspection plans for all works on site.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A higher-level qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 5‑10 years' experience in a Site Engineer/Site Management role on construction projects, with a proven track record on large scale projects.
Skills & Attributes
  • Possess in‑depth knowledge of Irish/UK construction standards.
  • Ability to liaise with Commercial & Contracts team when dealing with internal stakeholders and client's representatives while on site, including attendance at meetings.
  • Technically competent.
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness.
  • Process orientated and strong attention to detail.
  • Effective problem‑solving skills.
