Job summary

Team Horizon in Galway is seeking a Senior Electronic Engineer to lead the design, development, validation, and delivery of advanced electronic hardware for automotive applications. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

You will review requirements, drive design reviews, perform simulations and testing, and ensure compliance with standards and manufacturing constraints

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years' experience in electronic hardware design and product development.
  • Proven experience delivering electronic products from concept through to production.
  • Experience leading technical projects or acting as a senior technical contributor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and validation of complex electronic hardware solutions.
  • Take ownership of electronic engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Plan, monitor, and manage engineering activities to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Review customer requirements, technical specifications, and internal design requirements.
  • Design and review electronic schematics and high-density PCB layouts.
  • Perform design calculations, simulations, testing, and validation activities.
  • Support board bring-up, hardware debugging, and product verification.
  • Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, design rules, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Lead technical design reviews and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and product compliance activities.
  • Interface with customers on technical matters where required.
  • Identify technical risks and ???
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
