Job summary

RED Engineering Design invites applications for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across projects in Dublin or Cork. The role involves delivering full electrical design, quality control, and cost management while mentoring teams and leading cross-functional collaborations.

The candidate should have 5+ years as a senior electrical engineer, a relevant degree, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5 years plus as a senior electrical engineer, covering the duties listed.
• BSc/BEng or degree in appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• MIEE or HNC/HND plus appropriate experience or equivalent.
• Chartered status or in process has a distinct advantage.
• Significant experience in building services electrical design and specs.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Full Irish driving licence.
• Fluent English and eligible to work in Ireland.
• Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Proficiency with Dialux, Amtech, Etap, ERACS/CDEGS.
• Good understanding of BS standards.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Managerial and presentation skills.
• Experience with RED Project Delivery Process (PM, Finance, QA/QC, Tech Review).
• Background in consulting or construction preferred.
• Good understanding of international operations in a global consultancy.
• Ethics compliance as per group guidelines.

SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - DUBLIN OR CORK

Role Responsibilities

• The senior electrical engineer will manage full electrical design on projects of all sizes.
• Fulfil electrical design work as required, ranging from electrical building services up to MV topology.
• Provide quality control where requested for electrical engineering projects.
• Project cost control.
• Management of both project teams and cross-functional teams withing the existing organizational structure.
• Lead change in new technologies.
• Mentor and develop the team.
• Travel to client and project locations as requested to represent the company for meetings, surveys etc.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• 5 years plus as a senior electrical engineer, covering the duties as listed above.
• BSc/BEng or degree in appropriate engineering discipline or have sufficient equivalent experience.
• MIEE or HNC/HND plus appropriate experience or equivalent.
• Candidates with chartership or in the process of attaining chartership will have a distinct advantage.
• Significant experience of specification design for several building types.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have a full Irish driving licence.
• Candidates must be fluent in English and eligible to work in Ireland.
• Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications word, excel etc.
• Be proficient in the following software, Dialux, Amtech (trimble) Etap, Eracs Cdegs etc.
• Good understanding of BS standards
• Ability to prioritise own workload
• Ability to work to deadlines

• Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective.
• Background in consulting or construction preferred.

• Act in an ethical manner and follow the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines of the Group
