Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer - North Dublin.
This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career as a Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer. The successful applicant will be a key member of the Engineering Team with responsibility for providing technical support to Manufacturing Operations for electrical/electronic assemblies, PCBAs and subsystems and leading root cause analysis to implement corrective and preventive actions for production issues. As a key member of the team, you will be part of a highly innovative, multidisciplinary Engineering group.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to manufacturing operations for electrical/electronic assemblies, PCBs, and embedded systems.
- Deliver technical solutions to enhance product reliability and process capability.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for production issues.
- Perform component‑level failure analysis of PCBAs to support production and field returns.
- Participate in process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) for electrical manufacturing processes.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot test equipment, fixtures, and automated test systems used in production.
It would be advantageous to have:
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM).
- PCB design experience with a good understanding of design concepts and component selection.
- Knowledge of power electronics, cabling routing and how to integrate into a complex instrument.
- Control systems engineering knowledge (Tuning motors, PID control, etc.).
- Good understanding of EMC, and methods to eliminate electronic interference.
- Ability to utilize different design packages (e.g. Mentor Graphics, Eagle, Altium, Proteus, OrCAD etc.).
- Verification and Validation experience.
Interested applicants should have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field with a minimum of 6 to 8 years relevant experience. Consideration will also be given to individuals with alternative degrees if balanced by relevant technical experience.
- Experience in electrical/electronic engineering, preferably in the medical device industry or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Hands‑on experience with component‑level diagnostics tools (oscilloscopes, curve tracers, X‑ray/CT for PCBA analysis).
- Proven track record in problem‑solving and root cause analysis in production settings.
- Track record in supplier collaboration and component lifecycle management.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- An excellent team player who knows how to work in a team environment.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring team members.
