Job summary

Egis is seeking a Senior Engineer - Drainage Design to lead drainage initiatives on infrastructure projects in Ireland. You will work with clients, guide junior staff and ensure high-quality drainage solutions across networks, culverts and attenuation systems.

Responsibilities include flow estimation, catchment analysis and compliance with TII, DMURS and SuDS, using MicroDrainage, HEC-RAS and related tools to deliver robust, climate-resilient infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Must have drainage design experience to TII and DMURS projects.
• Proficient in MicroDrainage or similar.
• Proficient in HEC-RAS modelling or similar.
• Proficient in CulvertMaster or similar.
• Knowledge of CIRIA guidance and DMURS/SuDS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as drainage lead on projects and provide updates to Clients.
• Provide guidance to junior staff where necessary.
• Apply appropriate design standards including CIRIA, TII publications, DMURS and SuDS.

About the Role

• The candidate will be responsible for acting as the drainage lead on projects working under their own initiative and providing updates to Clients. They will also need to provide support and guidance to junior staff where necessary.
• The candidate must have sufficient experience in all aspects of drainage network design, including design of pipework, surface water channels, gullies, and attenuation systems.
• The candidate must have experience in flow estimation and catchment analysis. The candidate must have experience in culvert design to CIRIA guidance and must have completed OPW Section 50 applications.
• The candidate must have a knowledge and understanding of the TII drainage publications, and an understanding of the Greater Dublin Regional Code of Practice for Drainage Works, and also knowledge of DMURS and the SuDS manual.
