Job summary
SITA Group is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and optimize cloud infrastructure across Azure. You will implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable platforms with Kubernetes, ensuring security and reliability.
You’ll collaborate with software, security, and operations teams to deliver automated, compliant cloud solutions and improve developer experience in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid work-from-home options available in Ireland.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in a Senior DevOps, Cloud, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering role.
- Strong practical experience with Microsoft Azure.
- IaC experience, Terraform preferred; Bicep/ARM experience beneficial.
- Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Good understanding of Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, routing, DNS, firewalls, load balancing, and private connectivity.
- Strong understanding of cloud identity and access management (RBAC, managed identities, secrets, certificates).
- Automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or equivalent scripting languages.

Join our DevOps/Platform Engineering team as a Senior DevOps Engineer, where you will design, automate, deploy, and continuously improve the cloud infrastructure and delivery capabilities that support SITA’s platforms and services. This is a highly hands‑on role spanning Microsoft Azure, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, Kubernetes, networking, security, and automation.
Working closely with Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Architecture, Security, and Operations teams, you will help establish secure, scalable, reusable, and automated platform capabilities that enable engineering teams to deliver applications and services efficiently.

- Design, provision, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily within Microsoft Azure.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep, including reusable modules, templates, and standardized engineering patterns.
- Support Azure services including compute, networking, storage, identity, RBAC, DNS, certificates, secrets, and private connectivity.
- Build, operate, and improve container-based platforms using Docker and Kubernetes/Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Contribute to resilient, highly available, and scalable platform architectures, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and platform issues.
- Design, implement, and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, reusable pipeline templates, and standardized deployment patterns.
- Automate environment provisioning, infrastructure configuration, and application deployment, integrating Infrastructure as Code into delivery pipelines.
- Develop automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting technologies, replacing repetitive manual activities with sustainable automation.
- Continuously improve deployment reliability, consistency, efficiency, and the developer experience.
- Apply security-by-design principles and embed appropriate security controls and guardrails within infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement secure identity and access practices, including RBAC, managed identities, secrets, and certificate management.
- 5+ years of strong hands‑on experience in a Senior DevOps, Cloud, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering role.
- Strong practical experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably Terraform; Bicep/ARM experience is beneficial.
- Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Good understanding of Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, routing, DNS, firewalls, load balancing, and private connectivity.
- Strong understanding of cloud identity and access management, including RBAC, managed identities, secrets, and certificates.
- Experience developing automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or equivalent scripting languages.
- Strong working knowledge of Git, pull requests, source control, and code-review practices.
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-500, or AZ-700.
- Experience with Azure Landing Zones and enterprise-scale Azure environments.
- Experience supporting highly available or business‑critical platforms.
- Experience with disaster recovery and multi‑region architectures.
- Experience with monitoring and observability technologies.
- Experience with cloud cost optimisation and FinOps practices.
- Experience with policy‑as‑code and automated compliance.
- Experience with messaging, integration, APIs, databases, or distributed platforms.
- AWS experience, particularly where workloads are being migrated from AWS to Azure. AWS experience is useful but not mandatory.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum engineering environments.
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a DevOps role.
- Have previous experience in troubleshooting Java applications.
- RHEL Linux or Equivalent.
- Must know about Ansible and Kubernetes.
- Should understand Microsoft Azure stack (Fundamentals).
- Dev/Test/Prod Environment support and Automation.
- Experience in Linux administration.
- Familiarity with MongoDB and Elasticsearch for effective data management.
- Understanding of Kafka and Ldap.
- Knowledge of Terraform.
- Concept of Agile, HA, Resiliency, Scalability.
- ITIL, Operational requirements and Support.
