Job summary

Bank of Ireland Group is seeking Senior Data Modellers to join our Group Data Modelling team and drive data strategy through the agile transformation. You will develop key bank data models, shape standards and documentation, and help transform reporting and analytics with standardised data stores.

You will lead and mentor colleagues while collaborating across change programs and regulatory initiatives. Experience with Erwin, Jira and Confluence is valued, as is a strong ability to convert

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven business, logical and physical data modelling experience for a large complex enterprise, both development and maintenance, with a pragmatic balance between business need and modelling approach.
  • Extract accurate user requirements and relate them to model content or prototype required extensions.
  • Communicate developed model content to business users.
  • Creatively solve problems with innovative solutions where a template or process does not exist.
  • Leadership skills and ability to develop a pipeline of talent.
  • Agile delivery mindset and experience in an agile organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of robust processes, standards and documentation for Data Modelling.
  • Help enhance internal modelling capability and build the Data Modelling Team.

  • Work within an agile delivery squad to understand project requirements and impact on the data model.

In this Role, you will;

You will be responsible for development of key Bank data models via interaction with major change and/or regulatory programs e.g. BCBS, SRB

Support the development of robust processes, standards and documentation for Data Modelling

Working as part of the Group Data Modelling team you will help enhance internal modelling capability more broadly across the Group and also build and develop the Data Modelling Team

Be heavily involved in transforming the Bank’s reporting and data analytics processes and capabilities through the development of standardised and integrated data stores

Working as part of a wider design capability, you will be involved in understanding project requirements and how these will impact the bank data model, working as part of an agile delivery squad

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Experience of Banking Industry Data Models, in particular Teradata FSLDM, will be an advantage
  • Experience with both normalised (Inmon) and denormalised (Kimball) approaches
  • Expertise in Erwin data modelling tool – Preferably Erwin; also experience of Jira & Confluence
  • Experience of data integration and/or migration will be an advantage
  • Independent and decisive with willingness to challenge, and tenacity and resilience to ensure divisional accountabilities within a Group model and approach
