Job summary

Jobgether in Ireland seeks a Senior Data Engineer to own and shape a production-grade data platform. You will build scalable ingestion pipelines from APIs, webhooks, files, and scraping, evolving workflows to a modern, event-driven architecture.

You will implement robust data quality, lineage, and governance while integrating LLM-based extraction and external enrichment. You will work with Python, PostgreSQL, dbt, and GCP to deliver reliable data for downstream products.

Qualifications

• End-to-end data engineering experience building production data platforms.
• Hands-on with Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or Temporal; Airflow preferred.
• GCP and dbt production experience with data transformation and cloud infra.
• Event-driven architecture with messaging queues and concurrency.
• Strong Python skills with async requests and concurrency (asyncio, aiohttp, HTTPX).
• Advanced SQL and PostgreSQL data modeling, incremental loading, and tuning.
• Data contracts, raw/curated layers, retention, validation, and monitoring.
• Web scraping pipelines using Scrapy, Playwright, Selenium, or Beautiful Soup.

Responsibilities

• Own Data Platform Architecture from design to maintenance.
• Build multi-source ingestion pipelines (APIs, webhooks, files, scraping).
• Develop batch and event-driven workflows with orchestration tools.
• Ensure reliable failure recovery with retries and idempotent upserts.
• Maintain raw-to-curated data layers in GCS and dbt transformations.
• Strengthen data quality, governance, and lineage.
