Job summary

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Principal or Staff Data Engineer to join the IOPS IT team, building data infrastructure and pipelines powering data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.

You will architect scalable data solutions, set technical standards, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, and IT to deliver governed data capabilities. You will design data lake/warehouse, implement CI/CD, monitor pipelines, ensure compliance with CFR

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• Principal: 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Staff: 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala; deep SQL expertise and relational database experience required.
• Experience with NoSQL and big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka; stream processing experience (Kafka, Flink) a plus.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Luigi, Prefect, or similar) and containerization technologies required.
• Familiarity with Biotech Enterprise Systems including MES, LIMS, and QMS preferred.
• Knowledge of data security, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards including CFR Part 11 and GxP in regulated environments.
• Cloud certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize secure, scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for real-time and batch processing.
• Design data lake and warehouse solutions with high-quality, accessible datasets.
• Monitor pipeline performance and implement observability and alerting for reliability.
• Ensure adherence to data governance policies and regulatory standards including CFR Part 11 and GxP.
• Leverage GenAI and orchestration platforms to enhance efficiency and drive innovation.
• Define technical standards and design scalable data engineering solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead data engineering initiatives.
