Job summary

Workday, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to help design and build the next generation cloud platform for Workday Adaptive Planning.

You will contribute to infrastructure tooling, automation, build and deployment pipelines, monitoring, logging architecture, and containerization in a collaborative team. You will work across Linux and Windows environments, participate in on-call responses, and support deployments during and outside regular hours.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years DevOps, Systems/Infrastructure, or related Operations and SRE experience.
• 3+ years of experience working directly with AWS Infrastructure services; AWS Certification preferred; solid understanding of AWS services and security required.
• 3+ Years Experience with at least one programming language like: Go, Python, Bash etc.
• Authoring configuration management scripts and deployment tools: Jenkins, Puppet, Chef or equivalent
• Splunk, Nagios, Elasticsearch, Kibana, CloudWatch and Logstash and ways to scale these systems.

Responsibilities

• Support Workday Adaptive Planning Cloud infrastructure, working with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Chef and Terraform.
• Participate in infrastructure automation using Terraform, Chef, Jenkins and Golang.
• Participate in planning and implementing complicated technical projects that interact with a wide variety of teams within the company.
• Build and respond to production monitors: triage, fix and resolution, perform root cause analysis.

In this role you will take an active role in designing and building the infrastructure, tools, and services delivering Workday Adaptive Planning next generation cloud platform. You will be challenged with everything from infrastructure tooling, automation, build and deployment pipelines, monitoring and logging architecture, containerization and more!. Workday pay ranges (and the precise pay offered to the successful candidate) are based on a number of objective criteria such as relevant experience and skills, and educational qualifications, level of responsibility, demands of the role, work location and business need. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants awarded by Workday Inc.
