Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Chartered Engineer to join our Water Utilities Division in Ireland. You will undertake investigations and design across all stages of water and wastewater schemes, working within agile Ireland/UK resource teams with industry experts to deliver innovative solutions for clients.

You will mentor junior team members, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate with major water clients.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer status or strong alignment with Engineers Ireland competencies.
  • Proven track record delivering water/wastewater design outputs.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake investigations and design across all stages of water and wastewater schemes.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and mentors to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership.
  • Travel to sites across Ireland and, if required, the UK.

About the business division

The Water Utilities Division is Mott MacDonald’s centre of excellence for responding to Ireland and the UK's water and wastewater challenges. The work we do is at the forefront of ensuring safe water supplies for future generations, and improving the health of our rivers and coastal environments. Our multi-disciplinary teams provide a variety of services throughout the full project life cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies to outline and detailed design. Candidate specification
  • Civil Engineering or other relevant degree
  • Chartered Engineer status, or the ability to demonstrate strong alignment with the competencies of a Chartered Engineer (Engineers Ireland or equivalent)
  • Proven track-record of delivering design solutions in full compliance with PSDP, or equivalent, regulations
  • Proven track-record of delivering water and/or wastewater project outputs ensuring technical and commercial success
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, comfortable with client facing engagement and mentoring of junior team members.
  • People management or line management experience, including mentorship and technical leadership
  • Experience of working with Uisce Éireann, NI Water, Scottish Water, United Utilities, or equivalent, and prescribed bodies.
  • Ability to travel to sites in various locations across Ireland and if required, the UK.
