Job summary

CAI in Limerick is seeking an experienced Process Engineer with strong upstream and downstream bioprocessing to support complex GMP manufacturing projects within a leading biopharmaceutical environment.

The role focuses on bioreactor systems, process design through commissioning, qualification, and handover, with responsibilities spanning technology transfer, CAPA handling, and ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in biopharmaceutical GMP environments.
• Strong hands-on upstream and downstream bioprocess experience.
• Experience with bioreactors, centrifugation, filtration, chromatography, and UF/DF.

Responsibilities

• Provide process engineering support for upstream bioreactor operations.
• Lead process scale-up, tech transfer, and NPI activities.
• Lead troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Own IQ/OQ/PQ and commissioning protocols.
• Ensure GMP compliance and support QA validation teams.
