Job summary

StepStone Group is seeking a Senior Associate for Private Debt – Fund Accounting in Dublin. The role focuses on shadow accounting for StepStone funds, daily fund oversight, and reconciliation with fund administrators.

You will interact with professionals across the firm, oversee valuations, fee modeling, reporting and data integrity, and mentor junior staff while improving processes.

Qualifications

• 7–9 years in a comparable role.
• Bachelor degree in finance or mathematical-related subject.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly shadow accounting of private debt funds and fund of funds (shadow accounting).
• Review management and performance fees calculations and implement complex fee models.
• Oversee reporting and control of private debt and fund holdings.
• Monitor foreign currency exposure and FX hedging.
• Budget and track fund’s fees and expenses.
• Coordinate subscriptions / redemptions, capital calls, withdrawals, dividends in team.
• Ensure data integrity and plausibility checks; supervise junior staff.
• Assist in client reports production and coordination of report content.

Position Overview

The Senior Associate of StepStone Private Debt – Fund Accounting in Dublin will be responsible for performing shadow accounting of StepStone funds, will oversee all activities related to a fund on a daily basis and will coordinate and reconcile with the fund administrators. The Senior Associate will be in contact with professionals across the company and will work closely with team members in other StepStone offices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform and maintain monthly valuations of private debt funds and fund of funds (shadow accounting)
• Review management and performance fees calculation, be responsible for implementation of complex fee models
• Responsible for the reporting and control of private debt and fund holdings
• Monitor foreign currency exposure and FX hedging
• Responsible for the budget and tracking of fund’s fees and expenses
• Responsible for team activities in tracking and processing subscriptions / redemptions, capital calls, withdrawals, dividends, etc.
• Responsible for team reconciliations between Investment Advisor, Investment Manager and Fund Administrator and filing and input into the proprietary database
• Ensure quality and integrity of data by passing plausibility checks on data inputs
• Oversee the development of junior staff
• Assist in client reports production for a variety of our portfolios and ensuring quality thereof; internal as well as external coordination regarding the content of the individual reports
• Perform other duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate
• Continuously improve the overall process

Education And/or Work Experience Requirements:

• 7-9 years in a comparable role
• Bachelor degree in finance or mathematical-related subject

• Knowledge of the private debt- / private equity- or hedge-fund sectors
• Experience in fund accounting and/or custody in one of the above sectors

• Good analytical skills with a flair for processes as well as good IT skills
• Takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities assigned
• Ability to prioritize activities while working on multiple projects and achieve target deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
