Job summary

Johnson Controls International (JCI) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our AI Engineering team in Cork. This hands‑on, full‑stack role focuses on front‑end and back‑end layers that enable AI teams to deliver enterprise solutions.

You will work with AI engineers, data scientists and product teams to move AI use cases into secure, scalable products. Expect component‑based UI with Blazor/React and services in .NET and Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with production applications.
• Strong hands‑on experience building modern web apps with C#, Razor/Blazor, CSS and JavaScript on front end, and C#/ .NET back‑end services.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and integrating front ends with distributed back‑end services.
• Hands‑on experience delivering AI‑enabled applications (LLM, RAG, agent‑based solutions) and Azure hosting.
• Experience with automated delivery using Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain production‑grade web apps exposing AI capabilities with clear, responsive UIs.
• Develop component‑based front ends using C#, Razor/Blazor, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Build secure back‑end services and REST APIs with C#/.NET; include Python for AI/data integration as needed.
• Implement authentication, authorization, input validation, error handling and secure secret management.
• Own features from design through testing, deployment and production support.
• Collaborate with AI engineers on RAG and agentic solutions and ensure secure, scalable delivery.
