Job summary

Keelings in Ireland is seeking an experienced agronomy leader to develop and implement crop management strategies across soft fruit production. You will monitor soil and plant health, guide growers, and drive high quality yields while supporting sustainability.

You will build and mentor a high-performing agronomy team, coordinate crop monitoring, ensure regulatory compliance, and align programmes with the Better Food, Better World mission.

Qualifications

• Experience in soft fruit crop production (e.g. strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
• Strong knowledge of irrigation, fertigation, and substrate-based growing systems
• Expertise in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and crop protection strategies
• Familiarity with EU regulatory frameworks, including pesticide use and certification standards (e.g. GLOBALG.A.P.)
• Experience with data-driven agronomy and crop monitoring systems

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver crop programmes to optimise yield, quality, and consistency across soft fruit production
• Monitor crop performance via data and field observations and adjust strategies accordingly
• Lead agronomy team across sites and coordinate crop monitoring, reporting and advisory services
• Collaborate with external bodies and suppliers to identify risks and opportunities
• Oversee sampling programmes and ensure timely reporting on crop health and interventions
