Job summary

ESB Networks is seeking a Safety Performance and Reporting Lead to develop safety performance reports, analyse data, and identify trends and opportunities for improvement across ESB Networks. The role uses incidents, investigations, audits, near misses, and other reporting channels to generate insights and drive decision-making at local and organisational levels.

Qualifications

  • Third-level qualification or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five years' relevant experience.
  • Understanding of electricity network construction, maintenance, operations, fault response and associated hazards.
  • Operational experience as a Network Technician, Supervisor, STSS or equivalent operational role within ESB Networks or a comparable electrical network environment.
  • Proven ability to interpret operational and technical safety information and identify meaningful trends, themes, risks and learning opportunities.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, preferably within an operational or safety-related environment.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports, presentations and performance measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical and safety information in a clear, practical and accessible manner.
  • Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and other relevant software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and highlight emerging safety trends, recurring themes and opportunities for improvement across ESB Networks.
  • Analyse incidents, investigations, good catches, near misses and audit findings to identify meaningful safety insights and learning opportunities.
  • Gather, analyse and interpret safety-related information from stakeholders and convert it into meaningful reports, briefings and communications.
  • Generate safety performance reports, indicators, dashboards and benchmarking information to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Apply operational knowledge of ESB Networks activities to ensure safety information is interpreted consistently and accurately.
  • Develop innovative reporting, data analysis and performance measurement methods to support safety improvement.
  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of safety reporting processes, systems and reporting frameworks.
  • Liaise and collaborate with ESB Group Safety, key safety groups and other stakeholders to support safety objectives, reporting requirements and initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with managers, supervisors, safety professionals and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with ESB Networks staff to promote the practical application of safety reporting, reporting tools and organisational learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of stakeholder interactions, reporting outputs and safety-related information.
