Job summary

SSE plc is seeking a Project Manager to lead Domestic Retrofit initiatives within our One Stop Shop and Better Energy Homes programmes in Ireland. You will manage multiple home upgrade projects, coordinating between housing bodies, authorities and homeowners to reduce carbon footprints.

You will ensure projects meet scope, budget and timelines, while liaising with engineers, managers and clients to align on requirements and deliver high-quality installations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as Project Manager or Project Coordinator in domestic retrofit or related construction.
  • Strong SEAI schemes understanding and knowledge of retrofit materials and components.
  • Experience managing retrofit projects, contractors and customer expectations for smooth delivery.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental management systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with proficiency in related software.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure on-time, within-scope and within-budget delivery of SEAI grant-funded projects.
  • Manage contractors delivering home upgrade measures with high health and safety standards.
  • Oversee project from sale through to handover, including design, implementation, sign-off and close-out.
  • Liaise with engineers, managers, clients and stakeholders to meet requirements.
  • Ensure installed measures comply with SEAI guidelines and current building regs.

Salary:€57,600 - €65,000 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + company vehicle + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The role

We're looking for a Project Manager to join our Domestic Retrofit team to manage multiple domestic projects within our One Stop Shop and Better Energy Homes programmes. Through our One Stop Shop, we help approved housing bodies, local authorities and private homeowners reduce their carbon footprint by delivering quality energy upgrade measures such as solar panels, windows and doors, heat pumps and insulation measures.

You will
  • Ensure the on time, within scope and within budget, delivery of SEAI grant funded projects to our customers
  • Manage contractors who will be installing various home upgrade measures, whilst ensuring all works are completed to SSE’S highest standards of health and safety
  • Manage the project following the sale, through to final handover, which includes the design, implementation, sign off and close out of the project
  • Liaise with engineers, managers, clients and all other stakeholders, ensuring the project is carried out to their requirements
  • Ensure the project and all measures installed, are compliant with SEAI guidelines and current building regs.
You have
  • Proven experience operating as either a Project Manager or Project Coordinator within the domestic retrofit sector orconstruction related trade would be beneficial
  • Demonstrable, strong SEAI schemes understanding and in-depth knowledge of building retrofit materials and components
  • Experience and strong knowledge of commercial management on retrofit projects and proven experience of managing contractors and customer expectations, to enable smooth delivery of domestic retrofit projects
  • The ability to ensure compliance with company health and safety, and quality and environmental management systems, capable of challenging unsafe behaviour directly with contractors and other stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, and a proficiency in the relative software associated with the role
