Job summary

Blue Forge Recruitment represents a leading supermarket chain in Cork. The Retail Security Personnel role rotates across three stores with a fixed weekly roster and requires a PSA Security Guard licence. The successful candidate will primarily be based in Cork and must be able to stand for extended periods.

You will monitor CCTV, patrol the stores, and work with management to minimise loss. Excellent communication and customer-service skills are essential, with availability including evenings

Qualifications

• Previous security, retail security or loss-prevention experience is desirable.
• Valid PSA Security Guard licence is essential.
• Previous experience working in a convenience store, supermarket or busy retail environment is a must.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Professional, approachable and confident manner.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in challenging situations.
• Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible with availability, including evenings and weekends.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Physically able to remain on your feet and patrol the store for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers, staff and the store.
• Monitor the premises, entrances, exits and shop floor to prevent theft, loss and anti-social behaviour.
• Carry out regular patrols and remain alert to suspicious or unusual activity.
• Monitor CCTV and report any incidents or concerns to management.
• Work closely with store management and staff to minimise stock loss and shrinkage.
• Assist with managing difficult situations while following company security procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports when required.
• Ensure all security procedures are followed and any breaches are reported promptly.
• Support the store team during busy periods and maintain a visible security presence.
• Liaise with Gardaí or emergency services when required, following company procedures.

Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Security Guard with a proven track record of working in a FMCG Retail Convenience or Grocery store. An ideal candidate will be based in Cork and will be comfortable driving around cork because this job will rotate around 3 different stores with fixed weekly hours.

Package and Benefits

Competitive Salary: €35,000 - €36,000
