Dromoland Castle, together with The Inn at Dromoland, is delighted to invite applications for the role of Resort Assistant Maintenance Manager. This is a fantastic career opportunity for a motivated, hands‑on professional who is eager to gain experience across a world‑class luxury estate. This is a dynamic, high‑exposure role where you will work closely with the Resort Maintenance Manager to uphold and enhance the exceptional standards of one of Ireland's most renowned resort destinations. You will play a key part in leading maintenance operations across both properties, coordinating teams, managing a broad portfolio of planned and reactive tasks, and collaborating with specialist contractors. Flexibility is essential, as this is a 5‑over‑7‑day position, including evening and weekend shifts as required.

Key Responsibilities
Operational & Technical Leadership
  • Support the Resort Maintenance Manager in implementing and monitoring an effective resort‑wide maintenance system.
  • Lead the completion of all daily maintenance tasks and ensure they are accurately recorded in Snapfix.
  • Carry out hands‑on maintenance duties as needed (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc.).
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all team members follow safe working procedures and comply with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Conduct weekly safety and compliance testing, including:
  • Fire alarm bell tests
  • Emergency lighting systems
  • Fire‑fighting equipment
Planning & Coordination
  • Assist with the planning, prioritising, and scheduling of maintenance works using Snapfix (planned, preventive, reactive).
  • Support scheduling and roster management to ensure appropriate maintenance coverage across the resort.
  • Collaborate with senior management on development and capital projects, offering input and operational support.
Resource & Asset Management
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of maintenance materials and supplies.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance works, safety checks, and equipment documentation.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure the resort's appearance, safety, and guest experience remain at the highest level.
Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in a supervisory maintenance role (hotel, resort, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • A relevant qualification or technical training in a trade (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
  • Practical, hands‑on maintenance skills and the willingness to work across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong organisational and scheduling abilities.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
  • Clear communication skills for working with internal departments and external contractors.
  • A solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Availability to work five days over seven, including weekends and evenings.
  • Must possess a Full Clean Driver's Licence.
