Job summary

Western Care Association invites applications for a Social Care Assistant at Oakview Residential Service in Foxford, Co. Mayo. This is a Specific Purpose Contract of 22.75 hours per week with sleep-ins, supporting individuals to live meaningful lives in a safe, respectful setting.

You will work with individuals, their families and multidisciplinary teams to promote independence, equality and personal goals, while advocating for needs and rights within Individual Plans.

Qualifications

• Commitment to supporting individuals in achieving positive opportunities and meaningful change.
• Experience in person- and family-centered care approaches.
• Strong understanding of equality, inclusion and quality of life for all individuals.
• Ability to listen, understand and advocate for individuals’ needs and rights.
• Experience with high and/or complex needs.
• Experience in leadership or supervisory roles.
• Experience contributing to service development or quality improvement.
• Excellent time-management and collaborative working skills.

• Provide personal care and practical support to individuals as required.
