Job summary

University College Cork invites applications for a part-time Research Assistant – Lived Experience (0.2 FTE) on a fixed-term 51.5-month appointment within the PPI Ignite Network at the School of Public Health. The post holder will draw on their experience as a public involvement contributor to support researchers to meaningfully incorporate lived experience throughout the research process.

The role includes providing guidance on equity, diversity and inclusion, reviewing research funding

Responsibilities

• Recruit a Research Assistant – Lived Experience to bring a public and patient perspective to PPI Ignite Network @ UCC team and to support researchers to meaningfully incorporate lived/living experience throughout the research process.
• Draw on experience as a PPI contributor across a variety of research projects and initiatives, as well as experience reviewing research funding applications, to provide guidance to researchers.
• Contribute an equity, diversity and inclusion perspective and identify opportunities to strengthen involvement of members of the public in research.
• Note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.
