At AECOM, we are seeking an experienced Reporting Manager - Rail Projects to join our Dublin team and play a pivotal role in strengthening programme performance, governance, and reporting.

This is a key leadership position supporting the Head of Performance and Reporting, with responsibility for establishing and managing a robust, programme-wide reporting function. You will ensure that high-quality, reliable, and timely information is available to support effective decision-making at project, programme, and senior leadership levels.

The successful candidate will lead a team of reporting professionals and work collaboratively with project controls, finance, risk, delivery, and other programme functions. You will bring together complex performance information, transform data into meaningful insight, and ensure reporting is consistent, transparent, and aligned with strategic objectives.

A key focus of the role will be driving continuous improvement across reporting processes, systems, governance, and data quality, while promoting the effective use of business intelligence and digital reporting tools to support successful rail programme delivery.

What you'll do
  • Lead the programme reporting function, establishing effective processes, standards, and governance for the collection, validation, analysis, and presentation of project and programme performance information.
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools, templates, and methodologies that provide consistent, accurate, and efficient capture of project status and performance data.
  • Manage the reporting cycle, coordinating the preparation, quality assurance, review, and distribution of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc performance reports.
  • Own the programme reporting calendar, ensuring all reporting requirements, milestones, submissions, and stakeholder reviews are clearly defined and delivered on time.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the performance reporting framework, ensuring it remains aligned with programme objectives, governance requirements, and stakeholder needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of reporting analysts and engineers, establishing a high-performance culture focused on quality, collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Oversee the production of programme-level dashboards, reports, and management information, translating complex data into clear and actionable performance insights for senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively across programme functions, including project controls, commercial, finance, risk, planning, engineering, and delivery teams, to ensure information is integrated, consistent, and reliable.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) that provide meaningful insight into programme progress, delivery performance, strategic objectives, and key milestones.
  • Strengthen data quality and reporting assurance, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and emerging issues and implementing appropriate controls and corrective actions.
  • Promote transparency and evidence-based decision making, ensuring reporting provides a clear view of programme performance, trends, risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention.
  • Champion the use of business intelligence and digital reporting solutions, identifying opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance reporting capability.
  • Ensure reporting practices comply with programme governance, quality standards, contractual and regulatory requirements, and recognised industry best practice.
  • Drive continuous improvement, regularly reviewing reporting processes and stakeholder requirements to improve efficiency, usability, consistency, and the overall value of management information.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

As the successful candidate, you will have experience working within our primary infrastructure market along with having the following qualfications and experience:

Experience specialising in project performance reporting, with a strong record of delivering reporting activities on major infrastructure programmes or projects of comparable scale and complexity.

Experience should include proficiency with key reporting tools and applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Business Intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), cost management systems, financial management systems, and recognised industry publishing tools.

Candidates should also have substantial expertise in data visualisation and analytical techniques, enabling the production of clear, insightful, and decision‑ready reporting outputs.
