Job summary

The Rehab Group in Ireland is seeking a Relief Care Worker to provide personal care in a residential service located in Killarney, Co Kerry. The role emphasizes a person-centered approach and supports individuals with intellectual disability and mental health difficulties.

You will work within a supportive team to promote inclusion, safety, and community living, adhering to risk assessments and hygiene standards. QQI Level 5 in Health & Social Care and a valid driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 in Health & Social Care is required.
• Full clean driving licence is required.
• Experience in residential care setting is required.
• Experience supporting service users with disabilities and challenging behaviours is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Promote teamwork and create a nurturing environment for service users.
• Provide person-centred care in accordance with the needs and wishes of service users.
• Assist with personal care, manual handling, and ensuring hygiene and safety at all times.

Job Title: Relief Care Worker

Fixed Term Contract 6 months, Variable hours

Location: Killarney, Co Kerry

About the Role:

To provide a personal care service to individuals with Intellectual Disability and Mental Health Difficulties within a residential service setting, in an environment which values and respects the individual, foster a positive behavioural support approach to supporting people with challenging behaviours and an environment that fosters community based living, personal development and social inclusion

What We’re Looking For:

• QQI Level 5 in Health & Social Care
• Full clean driving licence
• Candidates should have experience of working in a residential care setting
• Candidates should have experience of providing appropriate supports to service users with relevant disability and whose behavior may challenge.

Your Responsibilities:

• Promote and actively involved in teamwork, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the service user.
• Facilitate and implement a person centered service appropriate to the needs, wishes and requirements of service users.
• Provide personal assistance in all aspects of personal care and manual handling, ensuring comfort and hygiene of service users and adhering to safe practice and risk assessments at all times.

Additional Requirements:

• If applicable, candidates will need to provide a police certificate for any country they've lived in before moving to Ireland
