Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Regulatory Communications and Engagement Executive to support the Regulation Department’s communications, member engagement, and content delivery needs, as well as research and general regulatory work. This role will work closely with the organisation’s central Communications and Solicitor Services teams, ensuring that regulatory initiatives, updates, and guidance are clearly and appropriately communicated to the profession and relevant stakeholders.
The successful candidate will translate complex regulatory information into clear, accessible content; coordinate engagement initiatives; and support the department’s outreach goals while ensuring consistency with the organisation’s wider communications strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and edit regulatory content for professional audiences, including practice notes, website updates, circulars, reports, and newsletters.
- Liaise with the Communications team to ensure regulatory content aligns with the organisation’s tone, style, and strategic messaging.
- Collaborate with Solicitor Services team to ensure regulatory content supports user experience, accessibility, and responsiveness to member needs.
- Assist in planning and delivering regulatory engagement initiatives, such as consultations, regulatory talks, webinars, or briefings.
- Work with subject matter experts within Regulation to prepare clear, legally accurate materials for both internal and external audiences.
- Monitor content for accuracy, relevance, and consistency across regulatory outputs.
- Support the preparation of presentations and briefing materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain an editorial calendar of regulatory communications in coordination with other departments.
- Help evaluate the effectiveness of regulatory communications through feedback, engagement analytics, and member queries.
- Assist with the Regulatory Performance project, and other project work assigned
- Carry out any research as assigned by the Regulatory Compliance Manager or the Head of Practice Regulation
- Any other regulatory work as assigned by the Regulatory Compliance Manager or the Head of Practice Regulation
Essential skills and experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional communications, marketing, editorial, or regulatory role.
- Experience on social media platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute campaigns.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with proven ability to tailor content for different audiences.
- Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement and communications best practices.
- Ability to translate complex or legal information into plain, accurate, and accessible language.
- Exceptional attention to detail, including grammar, tone, and formatting.
- Experience coordinating across departments and working with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Familiarity with GDPR principles
- Knowledge of basic data presentation and visual communication principles (e.g., infographics, tables, charts).
