Qualifications

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligibility for registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years' post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient care skills.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and ongoing CPD.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible shifts including day, night, weekend and public holidays.
  • Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accurate clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, and report patients' conditions and responses to treatment.
  • Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Assist with diagnostic tests, medical procedures, and patient examinations.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient documentation and nursing records.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  • Promote patient safety by infection prevention and control protocols.
  • Participate in mandatory training, CPD, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff where appropriate.
