Vhi 360 Health Centre in Carrickmines, Dublin, is seeking a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) on a part-time basis (0.73 FTE). The role focuses on nurse-led assessment and treatment of minor injuries and illnesses in an urgent care setting, delivering safe, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

  • Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner with current NMBI registration.
  • Experience in urgent care or minor injury/illness management preferred.
  • Strong clinical decision making and leadership in a fast-paced setting.

Job Title: Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner - Part-time (0.73fte ) Department: Urgent Care Location: 360 Health Centre Carrickmines

A part-time (27.5 hours a week), permanent vacancy has arisen for the role of a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) at the Vhi 360 Health Centre in Carrickmines, Dublin. The Urgent Care service provides Vhi members access to urgent care for minor injuries and illnesses. The RANP in Urgent Care will play a central role in providing nurse-led care in minor injuries and illness, in an evidence-based environment focused on quality and safety of care delivery.

What will you do

The advanced practice service at Vhi Urgent Care Centre is provided by nurses who practice at a higher level of capability as independent, autonomous and expert advanced practitioners. The overall purpose of the service is to provide safe, timely, evidenced based nurse-led care to patients who attend the Urgent Care Centre for treatment. This involves undertaking and documenting a completed episode of patient care for those patients with non-life- threatening injury and illness, comprehensively assessing, diagnosing, planning, treating and discharging patients in accordance with collaboratively agreed local policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines. The RANP in Urgent care will demonstrate advanced clinical and theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, clinical leadership and complex decision-making abilities. The RANP in Urgent Care service will also provide clinical leadership and professional scholarship in the delivery of optimal nursing services and informs the development of evidence-based health policy at local, regional and national levels. The RANP in Urgent Care will practice in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (NMBI 2014), the Scope of Nursing and Midwifery Practice Framework (NMBI 2015), Advanced Practice (Nursing) Standards and Requirements (NMBI 2017), and the Values for Nurses and Midwives in Ireland (Department of Health 2016). The RANP in Urgent Care will practice to a higher level of capability across six domains of competence as defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland Advanced Practice (Nursing) Standards and Requirements (NMBI 2017).

The scope of practice and Inclusion criteria for the RANP are as follows: Soft tissue injury to upper and lower limbs Suspected fractures to upper and lower limbs Lacerations and cuts including those that require suturing Minor head injury without loss of consciousness Minor burns and scalds TPBN1_IJ
