Job description

Temple Bar Hotel Dublin is seeking a Receptionist to join the team in its unique four star hotel.

You will report to the Front Office Manager and Assistant Front Office Manager, supporting/working towards providing our customers with excellent service, working as a team with your colleagues and ensuring the guest is offered the highest standards in service and care, anticipating their needs and being attentive at all times.

A Receptionist will be responsible for:
  • To offer the highest level of guest service in the Reception Area of the hotel, ensuring the agreed standards are achieved at all time
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the Front Office as directed by the Front Office Manager & Assistant Manager.
  • To welcome all guests to the hotel, and answer any queries before, during and after the guest’s stay to maximize sales throughout the hotel. Specific responsibilities include: checking in and out of guests on arrival and departure; dealing with enquiries via the telephone and at the Front Desk; ensuring all procedures are followed in relation to the handling of cash and keys, reservation duties when necessary.
  • To read all the Front Office SOP’s and understand the current standards
  • Resolve guest problems quickly, efficiently and courteously and to ensure complaints are escalated to the FOM, Asst FOM or DM.
  • To have correctly prepared your upselling trackers by Friday of each week and to compile the totals for Management to review
  • To stay informed about daily operations and events, and brief team when necessary.
  • To ensure that you have an in-depth knowledge of your department product, in addition to being aware of the total hotel facilities.
  • To encourage and maintain an effective working relationship with colleagues and managers.
  • To have pride and commitment in your area of work.
  • To attend training sessions as required.
  • To attend appraisal / assessments as required.
  • To attend Hotel and Departmental Meetings as required, ensuring effective communication at all levels.
  • To maintain all company policies and procedures.
  • To ensure that all hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • To comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, Licensing and Employment.
