Job summary

Collins McNicholas Group is seeking an R&D Process Technician in Athlone, Ireland. The role collaborates with R&D, Process Engineering, Quality and Operations to develop scalable, regulated manufacturing processes and support scale‑up from concept to production.

The ideal candidate holds a technical degree in engineering and has hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, data analysis and documentation, with excellent communication in a fast-paced startup context.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical/biomedical/manufacturing/process engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in R&D, process engineering or manufacturing.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment; medical devices preferred.
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, test systems, fixtures or tooling.
• Strong problem-solving with data analysis and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering tests and experiments and prepare technical reports.
• Operate, troubleshoot, calibrate and maintain equipment and test systems.
• Support process development, qualification and validation activities.
• Investigate issues, identify root causes and implement improvements.
• Assist with transfer of new products into production.
• Maintain accurate records, SOPs and equipment documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards.
