Job summary

Luminate Medical in Galway, Ireland, seeks an R&D Engineer to take a medical device from concept to manufacturing readiness. You will drive product development, review data, and manage prototypes, collaborating with Senior Engineers, RA/QA, and manufacturing to hit timelines and quality targets.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in medical device development, a NFQ Level 8 Engineering degree, and experience with injection moulding and 3D printing.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in medical device product development.
• NFQ Level 8 Engineering degree (Ireland).
• Experience in design for assembly of mid to high-volume manufacture.

Responsibilities

• Drive product development from concept to manufacture.
• Develop prototypes to manufacturing readiness using fabrication methods (vacuum forming, injection moulding, 3D printing).
• Own tasks with structured approach to product development and documentation.
• Collaborate with RA/QA to conduct risk assessments (FMEAs).
• Work with manufacturing to ensure DFA and manufacturability.
