Job summary

Fanatics Betting & Gaming in Dublin is seeking a Quantitative Analyst to operate at the intersection of sports trading, mathematics, and data science. Hybrid role requiring 2-5 days per week in our Dublin office, focusing on analyzing sport and betting data, developing predictive models, and supporting trading decisions.

You will collaborate with senior quants, traders and product managers to improve pricing efficiency, expand betting odds with our proprietary platform, and enhance risk models.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field.
  • Strong mathematical, statistical and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality work and adhering to best practices in quantitative analysis and research.
  • Knowledge of machine learning is a plus.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, C#, R, or C++ is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, train and test mathematical models for pricing and risk management of sport betting events.
  • Source and analyze data: collect and clean sports data; analyze large play-by-play datasets to identify patterns.
  • Program using Python or C# to develop quantitative models and automate analytical processes.
  • Collaborate with senior quants, traders and product managers to translate requirements into solutions.
  • Document methodologies and analysis procedures for internal reference.
  • Stay updated on developments in quantitative analysis and betting markets through self-study and training.

Quantitative Analyst

As a Quantitative Analyst, you’ll operate at the intersection of sports trading, mathematics, and data science. Your primary focus will be on analyzing sport & betting data, developing predictive models, and assisting with trading decisions. You’ll collaborate with senior quants, traders, engineers and product managers to continuously improve pricing efficiency and expand the range of betting odds generated by our proprietary trading platform and continuously improve our risk models & management strategy. You will apply mathematical and statistical techniques to solve complex problems. It is an exciting opportunity for professional development in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid role, requiring 2-5 days per week in our Dublin office.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, implementation, training and testing of mathematical models for pricing & managing the risk of sport betting events.
  • Data Sourcing & Analysis
    • Collect and clean sports-related data,
    • Analyze large datasets of play by play (simulated or historical) and betting data to identify patterns, trends, and correlations that can inform trading strategies.
  • Programming
    • Use programming languages such as C# or Python to develop quantitative models, code and automate analytical processes, and perform data analysis tasks.
  • Collaborate with senior quantitative analysts, traders & product managers to understand business requirements, implement solutions, and communicate findings effectively
  • Document and maintain clear and concise documentation of quantitative models, methodologies and analysis procedures for internal reference
  • Stay abreast of developments in quantitative analysis & betting markets, and related fields through self-study & training
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Outstanding mathematical, statistical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and good team skills
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality work and adhering to best practices in quantitative analysis and research.
  • Strong understanding of more advanced machine learning techniques is a plus
  • Proficiency in at least one programming languages such as Python, C#, R, or C++ is a plus
Experience
  • While junior roles often don’t require extensive experience, any exposure to financial markets, data analysis, or quantitative research is beneficial.
  • Internships or coursework related to quantitative finance or numerical modeling are a plus.
