Job summary

Millennium is seeking a Quantitative Development - DevOps Engineer to design and build scalable infrastructure for CLS research and production workflows. You will implement polyglot environments, improve packaging standards, and collaborate with cloud-based infrastructure to scale workloads.

You will lead with strong DevOps practices, automate deployment pipelines, and ensure high-availability in fast-paced research environments, contributing to robust, reliable trading platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in research-focused DevOps environments such as HPC, machine learning research or quantitative research.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including decision-making under time pressure and ownership of outcomes.
• Strong development skills to automate infrastructure management and deployment processes.
• Solid systems knowledge, including Linux internals and package management.
• Strong understanding of Python internals and modern packaging standards.
• Familiarity with packaging and build tooling (uv, hatchling).
• Experience with tools and platforms such as Kubernetes, Conda, Nix, Pixi, and containers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement infrastructure that improves R&D velocity across CLS environment.
• Advise on engineering and infrastructure best practices for scalable workflows.
• Evaluate state-of-the-art tools and apply sound judgment for CLS use cases.
• Build reproducible polyglot environments across Python and CUDA for fast iteration and deployment.
• Strengthen packaging standards and development practices for large codebases.
• Partner with cloud-based infrastructure to scale workloads and improve efficiency.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, and job automation for research and live trading apps.
• Create solutions to profile and monitor application and infrastructure performance.
