Job summary

SSO Personnel is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to join our Macroom team. This on-site, full-time role operates in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment and reports to the Plant Manager.

You will lead ISO audits, identify root causes of non-conformances, analyze quality data, and collaborate with Customer Service to spot trends. Strong communication and practical problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and presentation.
• Strong ISO knowledge to ensure product compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead ISO and other regulatory audits.
• Identify root causes of non-conformances and drive corrective actions.
• Collect and analyse quality data; prepare clear presentations for Senior Management
• Work closely with Customer Service to spot trends in calls/complaints
• Update procedures and policies
• Create and close out Corrective Action Reports
• Use COPIS methodology for new process introductions
• Manage supplier returns, credits, and liaise directly with suppliers on quality issues
• Host quality meetings and maintain Quality KPIs
• Write specific quality reports as required

Salary: €35,000 - €45,000 (up to €50,000 for exceptional candidates)

We are looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer to join our team in a key role reporting directly to the Plant Manager. You’ll be a proactive, direct communicator who isn’t afraid to go down to the floor and speak to people face-to-face to resolve issues quickly — rather than hiding behind emails. Strong ISO knowledge is essential as you’ll play a central role in ensuring products are fully compliant.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Knowledge of Sheet Metal Fabrication processes (Turret Punch, Press Brake, Welding)
• Understanding of basic electrical circuit drawings, cables, crimping, switches, and lighting
• Advanced Excel skills — Pivot Tables, lookups, complex formulas for data analysis and presentation are essential
• Strong working knowledge of ISO procedures and getting products compliant
• Proactive, direct, and practical approach — you enjoy being on the shop floor
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
