Job summary

Next Generation Recruitment is seeking a Quality Control Microbiology Technician to join a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical laboratory in Carlow, Ireland. You will perform routine QC microbiology testing and support bioburden, endotoxin and environmental monitoring activities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science and 1–2 years’ GMP laboratory experience, with strong documentation, ALCOA data integrity, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant Science discipline – essential.
• 1–2 years' experience working in a GMP laboratory environment – essential.
• Practical knowledge of GMP, GLP and aseptic techniques.
• Understanding of laboratory data integrity and ALCOA principles.
• Strong laboratory documentation and technical writing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team.
• A proactive approach to identifying and escalating laboratory issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine QC microbiological testing to assess specification conformance.
• Carry out bioburden, endotoxin and plate enumeration testing.
• Perform environmental monitoring and WFI sampling.
• Manage laboratory samples and associated documentation.
• Support microbial identification activities, including MALDI-TOF.
• Maintain ALCOA data integrity principles.
• Work in accordance with GMP, GLP, EHS and aseptic requirements.
• Identify and escalate deviations, discrepancies and non-conformances.
• Support laboratory investigations and quality-related problem solving.
• Contribute to SOPs, procedures and laboratory training materials.
• Follow all applicable laboratory, safety and PPE requirements.

Quality Control Microbiology Technician

This is your opportunity to join a highly regulated pharmaceutical laboratory environment in Carlow , supporting routine microbiological testing within a GMP-regulated setting.

You'll work across a broad range of QC Microbiology activities , including bioburden testing, environmental monitoring, WFI sampling and endotoxin testing, while maintaining high standards of laboratory compliance and data integrity.
