Job summary

EyeBio in Ireland is seeking a QC Associate Specialist (Microbiology) to join our Dundalk site, leading the microbiology lab and ensuring continuous, compliant manufacturing support across cGMP operations.

You will perform microbiological testing (Bioburden, Endotoxins, Sterility), mentor analysts, manage shift tasks, and uphold data integrity and cleanroom procedures in a fast-paced biotech environment.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology QC lab with environmental monitoring and core microbiological assays.
• Experience leading analysts in a shift-based environment.
• Strong aseptic techniques, cleanroom behavior, and clean utility operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary operational point of contact and shift lead, coordinating daily task allocation and analyst workflows.
• First-line contact for weekend technical issues and escalation of critical cGMP or safety issues to QC Management.
• Perform microbiological testing (Bioburden, Endotoxin/LAL, Sterility) and environmental monitoring in LIMS.
• Review laboratory data, worksheets, logbooks, and EM logs for GDP and data integrity.
• Provide on-the-floor coaching to junior analysts and maintain aseptic techniques.
• Identify on-shift deviations and initiate containment and notification steps.
• Keep the microbiology lab inspection-ready and compliant with cleanroom and cGMP standards.
