Job summary

A community support organization in Ireland is seeking a Project Worker for Tenancy Support and Sustainment Services. Project Worker, Tenancy Support And Sustainment Services, South East

Location: Kilkenny and Carlow

Contract: Full time, Specific Purpose contract

Provide support to households at risk of homelessness or currently experiencing homelessness, helping them access suitable accommodation and maintain independent living.

What you will do:
  • Work within the framework of Focus Ireland’s objectives, policies, procedures, and best practice standards, including Health & Safety.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with agencies and community services, ensuring a collaborative approach.
  • Operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team, coordinating statutory and support services through effective case management.
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 20–25 households, delivering tailored support programs based on individual needs.
  • Advocate on behalf of customers with external services and agencies to ensure access to necessary supports.
  • Conduct assessments, develop and update care plans in consultation with customers, and maintain accurate records on PASS and Orion systems.
  • Provide one-to-one engagement, including lone working in homes and remote locations, delivering intensive support to agreed standards.
  • Support customers in sustaining tenancies, focusing on rent compliance, property maintenance, and resolving inter-tenant issues.
  • Report child protection concerns promptly and attend relevant meetings, reviews, and supervision sessions as required.
  • Develop community links with accommodation and service providers, contribute to policy development, and participate in training and organisational meetings.
What you will need:
  • Relevant third level qualification at degree level in the area of social care i.e. youth work, social studies, addiction, psychology
  • Full drivers licence and use of a car.
  • 2 years direct experience in the social care field.
  • A working knowledge and understanding of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model
  • Experience of working with customers who have co-existing conditions
  • Excellent report writing and strong IT skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, social care based or clinical disciplines
  • Experience of working and liaising with other organisations’
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth understanding of the complex needs of individuals experiencing homelessness or hard-to-reach customers.
  • Proven ability to plan, implement, and monitor support programmes effectively.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work in a dynamic environment.
