Veolia is Ireland’s leading environmental services company, seeking a Project Manager (Engineering – Design) to join the Kilkenny team on a permanent basis. You will oversee design coordination across water and wastewater projects, liaising with clients and internal teams to deliver PCI and PDI deliverables.

The role requires 5+ years of post-qualification experience in M&E or Civil engineering, with a relevant engineering degree or diploma.

Qualifications

• 5+ years post-qualification experience on M&E or Civil projects.
• Diploma/Degree/Masters in engineering; MSc preferred.
• Proficient in MS Project and project documentation workflows.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design activities across Water or Wastewater PCI and PDI.
• Act as main contact for issues related to your project portfolio.
• Collaborate with client, technical assurance, employers representative and operations to deliver scope.
• Monitor progress against project programme and procurement sheets; manage costs and variations.
• Identify risks and manage changes and cost implications; provide early warnings.

Overview of the role: We have a talented diverse team of approx. 200 people and are rapidly expanding our workforce to meet our ambitious growth plans. Due to continued success and growth across the Water division, we are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join the ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) Team as a Project Manager(Design Coordination). Duties of the Role include

• Ensure thorough knowledge and understanding of the contract for all assigned projects
• Coordination of Design activities/outputs on a variety of projects across Water or Wastewater PCI and PDI
• Act as the main point of contact for dealing with any issues relating to your project portfolio
• Work collaboratively within the ECI structure with the client, technical assurance, employers representative and operations to deliver project scope
• Linking with senior management to provide timely updates on the progress of design outputs/deliverables relating to each project to assess the effect to workshop dates procurement, cost, forecast and variations
• Commitment to be obtained from the scope performers and tracked against baseline to allow delays to be managed and opportunities to be maximised
• Ensuring all necessary documentation is administered via the approved systems (eg BIM 360, process workflows)
• Monitor and control of the project and adherence to the project programme
• Management of the procurement sheet.
• Identify risks to Design activities/outputs and provide notification to the client, to allow preparation of early warnings, claims, variations and final cost cap agreement
• Identify and manage opportunities and influence positive change and improvements in the design process and wider team.
• Liaise with the project team, including Programme Manager, Designers, Drafting team and H&S Manager, to ensure that all H&S requirements are satisfied.
• Collaborate with the Project Team to ensure that they are motivated and fully understand the extent and timeline for their outputs.

Required skills for this role

• 5 + years relevant post qualification experience in the execution of M&E or Civil engineering projects
• Diploma/Degree/Masters level in a relevant Engineering discipline or appropriate experience (Mechanical, Civil, Process, Chemical etc)
• Strong IT skills including MS Project
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Self motivated
• Strong communication skills
