Job summary

Stantec's Water team in Ireland is seeking a Project Engineer to help plan, design and deliver water network projects from concept through construction, working with multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable solutions.

You will prepare feasibility studies, technical assessments, specifications and tender documentation, provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with clients and contractors to deliver high‑quality outcomes for Ireland's water infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Level 8 or higher).
  • Post-graduate experience in design and delivery of water network projects.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design software.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work independently when required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality water network engineering solutions.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, specifications, and tender documentation.

The Opportunity

Join Stantec's growing Water team in Ireland and play a key role in delivering innovative water infrastructure projects that support communities, protect the environment, and help address the challenges of climate change.

As a Project Engineer, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of water network projects, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable solutions for clients across Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to further your technical expertise while working on projects that make a lasting impact.

About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of water network infrastructure projects from concept through to construction support. You will develop detailed engineering designs for water networks, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure, while preparing feasibility studies, technical assessments, specifications, and tender documentation.

Working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams, you'll provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, coordinate project deliverables, and support the development of junior team members to ensure successful project outcomes.

In This Role You Will
  • Deliver high-quality engineering solutions for water network infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, specifications, and contract documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout all stages of project delivery.
  • Support the development and mentoring of junior engineers within the team.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects that improve critical water infrastructure across Ireland.
About You

You’ll Also Have
  • A Level 8 (or higher) qualification in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong post-graduate experience in the design and delivery of water network infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and experience using relevant engineering design software.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work to agreed deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when required.
