Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Pavement Design Engineer to lead planning and design of road and transport schemes across Ireland, based in Dublin or Dundalk. You will contribute to design development, contract documentation, and construction supervision, collaborating with key clients on National Road Network projects.

We value Chartered progress and strong knowledge of Irish pavement standards, IAPDM, and relevant software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Degree level in engineering (Level 8/9).
• Experience in planning and design of transportation schemes (preferably in Ireland).
• Knowledge of Irish pavement standards and approvals procedures.
• Experience in pavement design and familiarity with IAPDM.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design road, asset management, public transport and active travel projects across Ireland.
• Input to design development, procurement, contract documents and construction supervision.
• Provide design input to Key Clients for sections of the National Road Network.

You will join our growing Transportation business and will be based in our Dublin or Dundalk office. You should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, willing to take on responsibility and comfortable working as part of a team.## Your role* The role will involve planning and design of road, asset management, public transport and active travel projects throughout Ireland, input to design development, procurement processes, preparation of contract documents, contract administration and construction supervision.* The role will involve providing support and design input to Key Clients in managing sections of the National Road Network.## About you* Relevant experience in a consultancy environment.* Educated to degree level in engineering (Level 8/9).* Working towards Chartered Engineer status.* Computer literate and with experience of relevant design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc desirable but not mandatory).* Knowledge of relevant design standard and ability to translate this knowledge into practical, buildable and value for money designs.* Experience in planning and design of transportation schemes (preferably in Ireland) including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, preparation of contract documents, contact administration and construction supervision.* Ability to oversee the production of designs and report writing.* Have an understanding of Irish pavement standards and approvals procedures.* Experience in pavement design and familiarity with the TII Irish Analytic Pavement Design Method (IAPDM).**Personal Qualities*** Excellent inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills.* Flexible approach with ability to be able to multi-task and prioritise as required.* Positive outlook and approachable manner.* Highly motivated to achieve personal and company goals.* High level of integrity and commitment to uphold organisational values.* Able to work as part of a team or individually as required.## Rewards & benefitsExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career.
