Job description

Project Electrical EngineerTired of job ads that sound like they were written by a committee?
Here’s one that isn’t.

We’re Kirby. We don’t just build projects—we build careers. If you want to work for a company that values quality, collaboration, and people who take ownership, keep reading.

We’re looking for a Project Electrical Engineer who can do more than tick boxes. Someone who can take ownership of electrical engineering delivery on major projects and make things happen—not just talk about them.

Here’s the deal:
  • You’ll plan, organize, and lead electrical engineering activities across P&R projects. That means being the person who knows what’s going on, and making sure everyone else does too.
  • You’ll be the go-to contact for the client. If you’re good at building strong, assertive relationships without sounding like a robot, you’ll fit right in.
  • You’ll make sure the design and delivery process runs like clockwork—from start-up through commissioning and handover. If something’s off, you’ll spot it early and fix it.
What you’ll actually do (not the fluffy version):
  • Get stuck into project specs, programmes, and procurement from day one.
  • Liaise with vendors and design teams so deadlines don’t become pipe dreams.
  • Keep QA/QC tight and make sure technical submissions don’t gather dust.
  • Hold progress meetings that actually move things forward.
  • Manage risks before they become disasters.
  • Own commissioning and handover like a pro.
What we’re not looking for:
  • Someone who hides behind emails.
  • Someone who thinks “liaising” means sending a PDF and hoping for the best.
What we are looking for:
  • A sharp, organized engineer who can juggle timelines, vendors, and clients without dropping the ball.
  • Someone who understands that cost control isn’t just a spreadsheet exercise.
  • A communicator who can keep everyone—from design teams to clients—on the same page.

If you want a role where you’re just another cog, this isn’t it. If you want a role where you’re trusted to lead, solve problems, and deliver quality work that actually matters, let’s talk.
