Ethos’ Data Centre Retrofit team is seeking a Project Coordinator to coordinate and manage projects in live data centre environments, balancing operational constraints and client needs while ensuring delivery on time and budget.

You will work with engineering and commercial teams to develop objectives, execution strategies, and ensure compliance with local regulations, drawing on 5+ years of project management experience.

About The Job

Ethos’ Data Centre Retrofit team is a growing area of the business, building on our established data centre project experience. The team focuses on existing, operational facilities, supporting mechanical and electrical upgrades, capacity increases, technology refreshes, phased refurbishments, and lifecycle replacements. As a Project Coordinator within the Retrofit team, you will play a key role in coordinating and managing projects across these mission-critical environments. This role involves acting as the client’s representative, ensuring their interests are always protected under various procurement and contracting strategies. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to establish project objectives, develop execution strategies, and ensure successful project completion within budget and on schedule. Working within live environments, you will coordinate project activities with the engineering team, taking account of operational constraints and the need to maintain continuity of operations. This position requires a strong focus on communication, leadership, and the ability to manage complex projects while adhering to local statutory and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with our clients.
• Acting as the client’s representative, always protecting the client’s interests under various procurement and contracting strategies.
• Effectively communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Establishing project objectives in line with our clients and ensuring goals and timelines are achieved.
• Developing project reports/documentation.
• Responsible for projects' technical and commercial delivery. Managing and coordinating the delivery of the project in the most efficient manner in compliance with the firm’s business and management procedures.
• Developing project scope requirements.
• Developing and implementing appropriate project execution strategies, taking account of phased works, operational constraints, and continuity of operations within live data centre environments.
• Ensuring successful completion of projects within the budgeted cost and taking appropriate measures via Value Management/Value Engineering during various stages of the project lifecycle.
• Establishing project resource requirements and leading/motivating the project team.
• Ensuring compliance with local statutory and regulatory obligations.
• Developing and maintaining project budgets based on inputs received from the project team.
• Managing development of project plans with a focus on achieving project goals.
• Providing performance updates/reports for identification of variances and corrective action.
• Document management via CDE Platform.
• Liaising with senior management regarding regular project performance status.
• Cooperating and communicating effectively with all project participants to provide assistance and support.
• Demonstrating leadership, team skills, self-confidence, and effective decision-making throughout a project.

About You

Experience & Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in project management, with a strong background in both technical and commercial aspects of project delivery.

Technical Skills

• Demonstrated experience in developing project scopes, execution strategies, and managing project budgets. Skilled in using Value Management/Value Engineering techniques to optimize project outcomes.
• Knowledgeable in local statutory and regulatory obligations, with experience in document management via CDE platforms. Capable of producing detailed project reports and maintaining accurate project documentation.
• Understanding of project coordination within live environments, including phased works, operational constraints, and planned outages, is desirable.

Soft Skills

• Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, ensuring their interests are prioritized throughout the project lifecycle.
• Exceptional communicator, able to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure project goals are clearly understood and achieved.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide project teams, ensuring resource requirements are met and project objectives are achieved.
