Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group is partnering with a Longford-based manufacturing company to recruit a Project Accountant. The role targets a qualified accountant with 3+ years’ industry experience to manage month-end, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and project accounting.

You will work closely with project teams, analyse variances, and provide financial insight to support decision-making across business and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 3+ years’ industry experience post-qualification.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close process with preparation and analysis of management accounts.
• Contribute to FP&A activities including budgeting and forecasting.
• Provide financial analysis across projects and capital initiatives.
• Monitor project performance, costs, budgets and outcomes.
• Prepare financial reports and commentary for management.

We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturing company based in Longford to recruit a Project Accountant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with 3+ years’ industry experience to join a progressive organisation. The Project Accountant will have a broad remit across month-end, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and project accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the month-end close process, including preparation and review of management accounts and financial analysis.
• Supporting FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Providing financial support and analysis across a range of business and capital projects.
• Monitoring project performance, costs, budgets and financial outcomes.
• Preparing financial reports, analysis and commentary for management.
• Partnering with operational and project teams to provide financial insight and support informed decision‑making.
• Analysing variances against budget and forecast and identifying key drivers.
• Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and longer‑term financial plans.
• Supporting continuous improvement across financial processes, reporting and controls.
• Providing ad hoc financial analysis and commercial support as required.

Requirements:

• A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• 3+ years’ relevant industry experience post-qualification or in a strong industry-based accounting environment.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Strong experience across month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience working with or supporting projects and project financials.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work effectively with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
• A proactive, commercially focused approach with the confidence to challenge and provide insight.
