Job summary

Abbott Ireland is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a team at the Clonmel site. Under general management guidance, you’ll drive quality, productivity and safe manufacturing practices in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes developing staff, coordinating with Operations, Planning and Quality, and delivering continuous improvement projects. A Level 7 qualification and prior people management experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement staffing plans by identifying resource needs and coordinating with Ops Planning.
• Monitor daily operations and provide hands-on team support.
• Develop the team through training and progressively challenging tasks.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
• Engage with stakeholders across Quality, Engineering, HR, Supply Chain, EHS, Finance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Create department schedules based on priorities, workload and resources.

Purpose of the Job

With general guidance from functional management, responsible for providing team leadership to a group of employees committed to increased quality and productivity. Supports demand of the business unit. Identifies and analyses problems, plans tasks and solutions. Provides guidance to team on development, performance and productivity issues. Reports to functional and/or organisation management on team accomplishments, achievements and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements and coordinating the crew with Operations Management and Planning Schedulers.
• Monitor daily work operations and provide support to team members.
• Develop your team through training and assigning progressively more challenging tasks.
• Develop feasibility and execute continuous improvement projects to improve efficiency or remove waste from the process.
• Interact with key stakeholders: Quality, Engineering, Human Resources, Supply Chain, EHS, Operations Management, Finance & Operations Excellence.
• Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Develop work schedule for department by assessing priorities, workload and available resources.

Education and Skills
