Job summary

Mews is growing rapidly in the hospitality tech space. This Product Builder role requires taking ideas from whiteboard to production, owning outcomes, and delivering AI-powered features that evolve with customer feedback.

You will work at the intersection of engineering and product, collaborating with Product Managers and Designers, while defining scope and driving experiments without waiting for direction.

Qualifications

  • Seven or more years delivering customer-facing software.
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI development tools.
  • A track record of delivering large-scale initiatives across functions, systems or product areas.

  • Experience operating without a dedicated Product Manager or Designer.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and implement systems that power product-led growth, onboarding automation, multi-property business intelligence and AI-native features
  • Operate as a self-contained unit — making scoping calls, running experiments and owning delivery without requiring constant input from Product or Design
  • Set the standard for how AI tools are used in the development process, building faster and with less friction using tools like Claude, Cursor and Lovable

Job description

Help make the world more hospitable The hospitality industry is uniquely human, and it deserves technology that’s just as inspiring as the people behind it. At Mews, we’re transforming the industry with a platform that helps hotels run smarter, move faster and create better guest experiences.

Help make the world more hospitable The hospitality industry is uniquely human, and it deserves technology that’s just as inspiring as the people behind it. At Mews, we’re transforming the industry with a platform that helps hotels run smarter, move faster and create better guest experiences. You’ll work with smart, curious people who care deeply about what they do. You’ll have autonomy and the trust to make good decisions and move quickly. And you’ll enjoy a real sense of purpose as you see the impact of what we’re building. If you’re motivated by ownership, curiosity and meaningful impact, and are driven to deliver consistent high performance, you’ll feel at home here.

About The Role Let's get into the specifics. It’s impossible to capture every nuance of a role – especially at a rapidly growing company like Mews – but if we had to distil it into a job description (which we do because this is a job description), it would be this: This is a role for someone who can take a product idea from a whiteboard to production — and own the outcomes on the other side. Most engineering roles sit squarely in the "how" of building software. This one also asks you to answer the "what" and "why." Mews is growing quickly across a complex, multi-property hospitality market, and the tools customers need don't always exist yet — this role exists to create them. As a Product Builder at Mews, you'll operate at the intersection of engineering and product, taking end-to-end ownership of initiatives from problem definition through to customer impact. You'll work closely with Product Managers and Designers where relevant, but you won't be waiting for direction — you'll define scope, run experiments and make calls. The surface area is broad: product-led growth mechanics, intelligent onboarding and automation workflows, multi-property operational tooling, AI-powered features and co-pilot experiences. The hospitality technology market is at an inflection point. Customers are asking for smarter, more integrated tools, and the gap between what exists and what's possible is real. Product Builders at Mews close that gap by moving fast, iterating on real feedback and building systems that can evolve rather than just ship.

What You Would Do

  • Take end-to-end ownership of product initiatives: defining the problem, prototyping the solution, shipping to production and iterating based on customer feedback
  • Establish reusable patterns and frameworks that accelerate the work of other engineers across the organisation
  • Coach engineers who want to develop in this direction and represent builder thinking across teams

What You Would Bring

  • Seven or more years delivering customer-facing software with measurable business outcomes
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI development tools such as Claude, Cursor, Lovable or emerging agent frameworks
  • A track record of delivering large-scale initiatives across functions, systems or product areas
  • Strong product instincts — you care about the problem as much as the implementation
  • Experience operating without a dedicated Product Manager or Designer, or a proven ability to do so
  • You’ve gone beyond personal productivity with AI: you’ve redesigned how you or your team works using AI, built approaches other people can follow, and you evaluate and check what the AI gives you
  • Clear, direct communication with a history of influencing strategic direction across functions

Nice to have

  • Experience in a startup, founder or scale-up environment
  • Demonstrated ability to define and deliver product strategy without top-down direction

Life at Mews We’re an equal opportunities employer. We value teams that reflect the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Different perspectives make better ideas, stronger products and a more welcoming company. We also believe transparency is important when deciding if you're the right fit. Mews is an ambitious, high-pressure environment of continuous learning and high standards. Success here requires resilience, adaptability and a willingness to solve difficult problems.

We don't discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability or any other protected characteristic.

A Few Things That Define How We Work

  • High autonomy means high responsibility. People are expected to take ownership and drive outcomes. There isn’t a detailed playbook for everything, and that’s part of what makes the work challenging – and rewarding.
  • Change is constant. We’re growing quickly and adapting as we scale. Teams, processes and priorities continue to evolve, and only people who stay curious and agile will thrive.
  • We’re remote-first, not relationship‑free. Flexibility is core to how we work, but strong relationships still matter. Our teams are global, so we need expert collaborators and communicators to help us move forward together.
  • AI is an integral part of our processes. It’s not here to steal people’s jobs, but to amplify efficiency and productivity. We’re motivated to proactively use the technology to seek out better ways of working and share our findings with the rest of the company.
