Job summary

Waters Corporation, a global leader in life sciences and diagnostics, seeks a Process Chemist (Temporary maternity cover) to optimise products and processes using Lean/Six Sigma tools. You will liaise across R&D and production teams to drive improvements in HPLC/UPLC column performance and stability.

The role requires a chemistry degree and strong problem-solving, communication, and project-management skills, with a focus on quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BSc or higher in chemistry or relevant science discipline.
• Relevant laboratory/industry experience in a similar role.
• Experience with Waters acquisition software is an advantage.
• Proven abilities in project management and problem-solving.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good time management and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical ability and associated problem-solving.
• Proven report writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with R&D, Marketing, Taunton Production and Wexford Production & Quality Departments.
• Develop manufacturing/product testing processes which deliver high quality HPLC/UPLC columns.
• Design and implement stability indicating experiments to ensure product stability.
• Support investigations related to customer feedback.
• Project Management of Continuous Improvement initiatives/6 Sigma activities.
• Support projects associated with student placements.
• Conduct all project activities in accordance with standards (21CFR820, ISO9001, ISO13485, GMP).
