Responsibilities
  • Design Huawei Cloud's hybrid optical-electrical data center network solutions, focusing on improving hyperscale distributed traffic engineering and topology engineering.
  • Leverage Optical Circuit Switch (OCS/OXC) direct interconnect capabilities to implement a Dragonfly-like network topology for high-performance, low-latency data center interconnection.
  • Contribute to the architecture and development of next-generation reconfigurable optical networks that support dynamic topology adjustments, adaptive routing, and optimized resource allocation under varying traffic demands.
  • Collaborate on the deployment of our program network infrastructure in Ireland, tailored to local requirements.
  • Publish key findings in relevant conferences and journals or apply for patents as appropriate.
  • Collaborate on designing, building, and maintaining scalable network infrastructure across cloud environment.
Requirements
  • 8+ years relevant network experience with a min BSc in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Experience in the design and development of networking solutions based on Optical Circuit Switch (OCS/OXC).
  • Experience in traffic engineering techniques—such as routing control, multi-path routing, traffic scheduling, network telemetry, and traffic modeling—to optimize network efficiency, improve resource utilization, and ensure balanced load distribution across large-scale network environments.
  • Experience in designing and optimizing network topologies using techniques like Clos, Dragonfly architectures to improve scalability, fault tolerance, and performance; ability to support dynamic topology adaptation in response to real-time traffic and AI-driven application demands.
  • Preferred: Solid experience in traffic engineering and topology engineering for data center reconfigurable networks based on OCS/OXC architectures.
  • Experience in coding in at least two high-level programming languages such as C, C++, or Go, particularly in the context of SDN-based networking solutions development.
  • Exceptional communication skills including the ability to negotiate around deeply technical topics with senior business leaders.
  • Optional: Hands on experience working with AWS, Azure or GCP services.
