Job summary

Mason Alexander partnered with a Galway-based medical device client to recruit an experienced Principal Electronics Engineer. You will own electronic equipment design for medical interventions, taking projects from concept through to production, and collaborating with mechanical and firmware teams to deliver safe, innovative devices on time.

This hands-on role requires 8 years of electronics engineering experience in regulated environments, deep PCBA and schematic design with Altium, LTSpice

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience as an Electronics Engineer in medical devices or regulated industries.
• Experience designing PCBA and schematics using Altium.
• Knowledge of IEC 60601 regulatory standards and compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, development and testing of PCBA and schematic capture through Altium.

Job description

Our medical device client, based on the east side of Galway, is seeking an experienced Electronic Engineer at Principal level to join a small, collaborative team. In this hands-on role, you will take ownership of electronic equipment design for medical interventions, contributing to projects from initial concept through to production. Responsibilities will include circuit design, simulation, testing and characterisation across multiple projects, while ensuring compliance with IEC 60601 regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with mechanical and firmware/software engineering teams to develop innovative medical device products.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, development and testing of PCBA and Schematic capture through Altium
• Using LTSpice simulation tool to model and test circuits
• Working with various electronic test and measurement equipment
• Working closely with cross functional teams to meet shared objectives and deadlines

Ideal candidate:

• 8 years of experience as an Electronics Engineer working in the medical device industry or a similar highly regulated industry
• Working knowledge/building electronics to comply with 60601 regulations/standards
• Bachelors of Engineering in an Electronics discipline
• Hands on experience with design of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), and tools like Altium
• Using simulation tools like LTSpice

It is a permanent role based on site in Galway
