Job summary

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Principal or Staff Data Engineer to join the IOPS IT team in Raheen, Limerick County. You will architect and optimize secure data pipelines, design scalable data lakes and warehouses, and drive governance and observability across the platform.

The role requires deep programming and SQL expertise, experience with Hadoop/Spark/Kafka, and proficiency in containerization and workflow orchestration tools.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Principal: 8+ years of relevant experience, including 1+ years biotech/pharma and 3+ years on cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Staff: 10+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years biotech/pharma and 5+ years on cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize secure, scalable data pipelines for real-time and batch processing.
• Design data lake/warehouse solutions with high-quality data modeling.
• Monitor pipeline performance and implement observability and alerting.
• Ensure adherence to data governance policies and regulatory standards.
• Leverage GenAI and orchestration platforms to drive infrastructure innovation.
• Define technical standards and design scalable data solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead data engineering initiatives.
