Job summary

MOTOR DISTRIBUTORS LTD is seeking an experienced vehicle engineer to carry out general repairs on commercial vehicles. You will diagnose faults, perform MIG/TIG welding, and interpret drawings to ensure first-time quality.

The role requires safe workshop practice, clear communication with foremen, and full commitment to quality and documentation in a busy environment in Dublin. A driving licence is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in general engineering or motor trade.
• Welding and fabrication experience (MIG/TIG).
• Ability to read technical drawings and diagnose issues.
• Good communication and ability to work as part of a team.
• Full driving licence (advantage).

Responsibilities

• Carry out general engineering and mechanical repairs on commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs to a high standard, first time.
• Perform welding and fabrication work where required (chassis repairs, brackets, bodywork, custom fabrication).
• Read and interpret technical/engineering drawings where applicable.
• Work safely and efficiently within workshop procedures and timelines.
• Liaise with foremen and workshop management on job progress and parts requirements.
• Maintain accurate job records and complete work to warranty/insurance standards where relevant.
