Walton Institute is looking to hire 3 Postdoctoral Researchers in Experimental Quantum Optics / Nanophotonics to work on national and EU projects linked to the research area of quantum communication. Walton Institute in SETU is a lead partner in the Research Ireland Centre Rinn Quantum, a partner in the Research Ireland Centre CONNECT for Future Networks and Communications and a lead partner in the €18 M TransEuroOGS project (part of the EuroQCI which is building a secure communication infrastructure spanning the whole EU).

The role will focus on experimental quantum optics for quantum communication networks, or experimental quantum nanophotonics for development of novel quantum metamaterials. Eligible applicants will have a PhD degree in Physics/ Engineering with an interest in quantum technology.
