Job summary

Fastnet is assisting a biopharmaceutical research client in Dublin in hiring a Research Associate for an initial 6-month contract. The role focuses on developing and validating biologics/ATMP processes and supporting associated experimental design.

The successful candidate will have an MSc in biotechnology or related field, hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture (CHO/HEK), cloning and vector design, and a strong record in biologics and gene therapy development. On-site lab work required.

Qualifications

• MSc in biotechnology, cell biology or related field.
• Experience in biotechnology or biopharmaceuticals.
• Experience with Ambr 15/250.
• Strong biologics and gene therapy development experience.
• Cloning and vector design experience.
• Excellent cell culture skills (CHO/HEK).
• Experience with monoclonal antibodies or recombinant proteins.
• Experience in biologics development using various expression platforms.

Responsibilities

• Attend training and develop expertise in instrumentation.
• Develop and validate methods and SOPs.
• Perform experiments with precision, quality control and validation.
• Generate and complete records with precision and timeliness.
• Troubleshoot experimental issues to improve processes.
• Design and optimise vectors for biologics and ATMP applications.
• Develop methods for biologics and gene therapy generation.
• Provide leadership in experimental design and robust project structures.
• Lead efficiencies and operational excellence in labs.
• Support and develop projects with academic/industry groups.
• Publish publication-ready protocols, data and reports.
• Represent the client at conferences and engage stakeholders.
• Advise on pan-European consortia engagements.
